Contact your representatives about the issues that matter to you. It helps them figure out what's important to their voters, and it helps you stay in touch with your government.
Call, write or email?
Calling is best. It's quick and immediate, unlike a letter. And it's personalized, unlike a mass email.
How to call your rep
Just pick up the phone and dial. Tell the staffer who answers your call your name, where you live, and the issue you're calling about. Ask about your representative's position on the issue, and tell them your position. Then say thank you and wrap up the call.
Maximize your impact
Staffers keep tallies of how many people contact their office about each issue. Short calls and long calls are each worth one tally mark, so keep calls short and call often.
