Priorities if Elected
Environment
Tim's rallying cry for the environment is conservation. Yet even with conservation, sources of energy are necessary. He would like to create wind farms that are community owned and operated. Tim laments the use of harmful pesticides and herbicides which poison our environment.
Education
Instead of asking whether we can afford to improve education in Massachusetts, we should be asking whether we can afford not to! Tim supports education, including a plan that will allow Charter schools and traditional schools to work alongside each other effectively.
Healthcare
Tim applauds the work of the Cape Care Coalition, which aims to create a regional, community-owned, single payer health care system. Tim wants to move the medical industry into the 21st century. He knows that today it is possible to eliminate the redundant paper work and make sure that all medical institutions have access to records in secure central databases. He supports the Patient Safety Act, setting safe limits on nurses' patient assignments, prohibiting mandatory overtime and increasing nursing faculty and nurse recruitment.
